Paris Restaurants: My Short List for What Stays Open in August (2011)

Paris is notorious for shutting down in the month of August.  But there are still a number of excellent restaurants open for all or a good part of the month.  Here are some of my favorites.  See my Crème de la Crème list for more details on each establishment.

Note: this list is for August 2011. I will be sure to update it for 2012 once schedules are determined!

FRENCH: Open all month!

Kong (1st) 1, rue du Pont-Neuf (5th floor of the Kenzo store) Tel. 01 40 39 09 00.  Open the whole month of August, 7 days a week!

Le Café Marly (1st) in the Louvre (Tel. 01 49 26 06 60, technically 93 Rivoli but it’s in the courtyard of the Louvre by the big glass pyramid).  Open the whole month of August, 7 days a week!

Café Pères et Filles (6th) 8, rue de Seine, Tel. 01 43 25 00 28. Open the whole month of August, 7 days a week (12:00 – 14:30 and 19:30 – 23:00)!

Eggs & Co. (formerly Coco & Co.) (6th) on Bernard Palissy, Tel. 01 45 44 02 52. Open the whole month of August!  Closed only Mondays.

La Ferme Saint Simon (7th) 6 Rue de Saint Simon, Tel. 01 45 48 35 74. Open the whole month of August!  Closed only Saturdays for lunch, Sunday lunch and dinner and Monday, August 15th for lunch.

Restaurant l’Ile, (Issy Les Moulineaux), 170 Quai de Stalingrad, Tel. 01 41 09 99 99. Open the whole month of August, 7 days a week!

FRENCHOnly closed for one week!

Quai-Quai (1st) 74, quai des Orfèvres (at the tip of Ile de la Cité by Pont Neuf), Tel: 01 46 33 69 75.  Closed August 12 – 22.

Chez Lena et Mimile (5th) 32 Rue Tournefort, Tél: 01 47 07 72 47. Open every day 12h to 14h30 & 19h to 23h.  Closed August 15 – 24.

Fish La Boissonnerie (6th) 69, rue de Seine, Tel. 01 43 54 34 69.   Open 7 days a week.  Closed August 15 – 21. 

TEA, BRUNCH & LUNCH: Open all month!

A Priori Thé (2nd) 35 Galerie Vivienne (off rue des Petits-Champs), Tel. 01 42 97 48 75.  Open the whole month of August, 7 days a week (12:00 – 18:00 Monday – Friday and 12:00 – 18:30 Saturday & Sunday)!

Cosi (6th) 54, rue de Seine, Tel: 01 46 33 35 36.  Open the whole month of August, 7 days a week (noon to 11pm)!

Mariages Frères (6th), 13 Rue des Grands Augustins, Metro St-Michel, phone: 01 40 51 82 50 (and other locations as well: http://www.mariagefreres.com/).  All locations open the whole month of August, 7 days a week!

Ladurée (6th), 21 Rue Bonaparte (and 7 other Paris locations as well: http://www.laduree.fr/fr/maisons/addresses).  All locations open the whole month of August, 7 days a week!

La Cuisine de Bar/Poilâne Paris – Cherche-Midi bakery (6th) 8 rue du Cherche-Midi, Tel 01 45 48 42 59.  Open the whole month of August, every day but Sunday (7:15 – 20:15)!

Bread & Roses (6th) 7 rue de Fleurus, Tel. 01 42 22 06 06. Open the whole month of August, every day but Sunday!

ITALIANOpen all month!

Au club des Siciliens (6th) 18 rue du Dragon, Tel. 01 42 84 16 08.   Open the whole month of August, every day (closed August 8 – 24 for lunch but still open for dinner).

MEXICANOpen all month!

Anahua Calli (5th), 30 rue des Bernadins, Tel. 01 43 26 10 20.  Open the whole month of August, every day for dinner and Sunday for lunch and dinner!

THAI: Open all month!

 • Suan Thai (4th), 41 rue Ste Croix de la Bretonnerie between rue du Temple and rue des Archives, Tel. 01 42 77 10 20.  Open all month (except Mondays)!

 LEBANESE: Open all month!

Liza (2nd), 14 rue de la Banque, Tel. 01 55 35 00 66.  Open the whole month of August, every day (Monday – Saturday for lunch and dinner and Sunday for dinner)!
