Weekly Get-to-Know-Paris Challenge #23!

July 27, 2012

This week’s get-to-know-Paris challenge is to go to a concert. This year for the 14 juillet (Bastille Day), I was lucky enough to see Madonna’s spectacular performance at Stade de France. All the world renowned groups come to Paris. But there is a whole range of concerts you can attend in Paris – from classical to jazz to world music to rock… and everything in between. Some are pricey but some are free.

You can find out about some of the bigger-name shows (and purchase tickets) through FNAC’s website. If it’s more last minute, the best way to find out what’s happening is by picking up a Pariscope magazine for 40 eurocent at any kiosk. This weekly guide comes out on Wednesdays and tells you everything that is going on in and around Paris: concerts, movies, theater, festivals and more. Most (but not all) of this information can also be found online, or try infoconcert.com. To view more information or purchase tickets for classical music concerts (some of my favorites are those held in many of Paris’s historic churches), click here.
