Last week’s get-to-know-Paris challenge was to take your camera out and shoot. This week’s challenge is to take more photos, but this time with an eye to black and white. Or take last week’s digital shots and convert them to black and white. (I always recommend shooting in color initially. You can always turn color to black and white but you cannot turn black and white into color.)
Think about these questions as you choose and edit your shots: What mood do you convey with the black and white versus the color? Does one work better than the other for people or architectural shots? How do you decide when to turn a photo into black and white?
This is the exact same shot, one in color and one in black and white. Which do you prefer? Why?
