You still have a few more weeks to catch the fantastic Édith Piaf exhibit at the Bibliothèque Nationale-François Mitterrand in the 13th arrondissement.
I explored the exhibit last week and was very impressed. The exhibit was full of interesting anecdotes, histories, personal items (including Piaf’s famous black dress!) and other treasures. The information was conveyed through a variety of media: video interviews, sound clips, texts and personal letters. The accompanying audio guide gives a narrative but also offers recordings of Piaf songs that you can listen to while touring the exhibit. There is even a karaoke booth so you can sing your very own Édith Piaf songs!
The exhibit runs through August 23rd and is open Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 7pm and Sunday 1pm to 7pm (closed Mondays and August 15th). Tickets are €9 (€7 for reduced rates).
And remember, this is the last weekend (July 30 & 31, August 1) to catch Caroline Nin’s amazing performance of Piaf songs and stories at the Essaïon Theater by the Pompidou Center! More details here.
