Last month, I was lucky enough to participate in a “blind” wine tasting at Cave Bouteille in the 17th arr., a lovely little wine shop or cave.
We only tasted rosés, and to encourage us to discover the differences from one wine to another, the leader of our tasting covered each bottle with a knit sleeve or chausson, so we couldn’t see the label or the color of the wine.
Wine was poured into black glasses so we couldn’t see the color while tasting either. What a great idea!
We actually started out by tasting three flavored waters, just to get out palettes ready to distinguish flavor notes.
I highly recommend a visit to Cave Bouteille if you’re in the 17th. They are friendly and helpful and you’re sure to walk out with a great bottle!
