Every month, I post a list of some of my favorite or just the most eye-catching articles, recipes, blogs and other links I have come across in the past month. Some relate to Paris and European travels and some have nothing at all to do with the themes of Paris Weekender. Enjoy! See July’s favorite links post for more fun snippets. And be sure to also visit my page entitled Some Favorite Links for my all-time favorite sites I go back to over and over.
Paris
An amazing photo montage/video of Paris by Mayeul Akpovi. Don’t you want to hop on a plane NOW?
Check out this app for a Revolutionary Tour of Paris from Time Traveler Tours. It’s a unique way of exploring the city and learning something at the same time. I’ll be reviewing the app for My French Life, so stay tuned!
France & French
Ange at House Hunters International told me about this book. A theme vacation can add an interesting element to an otherwise classic trip. Why not plan a warm-weather trip around the most beautiful natural swimming holes and waterfalls?

Stolen camera? If you try this out, please let me know if it works! I’m curious…
General Travel
What a great idea – an app that lets you summon a taxi and charges your credit card on file (even the tip) so you don’t need to have cash on you. Brilliant!
Do you have a travel or other life adventure that you dream of but don’t know how to fund? This may be your answer….
Looking for hiking ideas? I agree with #1!!
Food & Wine
Who doesn’t love tomatoes? I can vouch for La Tavola Marche’s recipes as I took a wonderful cooking class there myself a few years ago!
Pistachio-Cherry Crumble – all I can say is YUM!
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately in Brittany, which naturally means I’ve been eating a lot of huitres (oysters)! Here is a bit of history on oysters in France.
Miscellaneous
100 year-old Idaho woman, Dorothy Custer, on Jay Leno show – hilarious!
